VIORICA – Elegant and complex wine from a young grape variety with a local aroma. Straw-yellow color with green reflections indicates a fresh and light taste. The bouquet opens with intense aromas of acacia flowers and harmonious taste. Subtle notes of ripe pear open, creating an aftertaste wrapped in delicate floral and fruity notes.
The Viorica vine variety is 100% local and represents the business card of the Republic of Moldova on the international market. The Viorica variety is an aromatic variety and dates back to 1969.
Viorica’s parents are an interspecific hybrid of French origin – Seibel 13-666 (maternal), and the paternal one is an Italian variety considered a red Muscat – Aleatico. Both parents are red varieties. These are to withstand temperature, cryptogamic diseases (diseases caused by gray rot, manna, powdery mildew, etc.), and harmful insects such as phylloxera.
Viorica dry wine has a straw-yellow color with green reflections. Intense aromas specific to the Muscat variety: white flowers, such as acacia flowers, jasmine flowers, and linden flowers. Other notes: citrus, lychee, yellow apples, candied apricots. You can also feel touches of thyme, basil, and other dried herbs.
Viorica covers an area of 95 ha, including 26.0 ha registered for producing wine products with PGI.
