Today the Château Vartely winery – one of the leaders of the Republic of Moldova’s wine industry and one of the first companies to started and produce wines with protected geographical indication, announces an updated range of wines, known under the name Château Vartely IGP.
This is a collection of 8 stunning white, rose, and red wines that will surely impress anyone. All wines in the series are characterized by typical varietal features and the highest quality. They have a pronounced freshness, bright aroma, and light taste. Wines are made from European and local grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Malbec , Syrah (Shiraz), Feteasca Regala. Every wine is a vivid reflection of the terrain, soil, winemaking traditions, and love embedded in the vine and wine. This is what winemakers call terroir (fr. terroir), that is, the totality of the soil’s features, climate, place location of the vineyard, and, besides, “the hands of the winemaker.” This is what makes ” terroir ” wines so unique.
Château Vartely Feteasca Regală 2020 is a fresh aromatic wine with light mineral notes and pleasantly expressed acidity, with a delicate aroma of wildflowers, which are legally combined with notes of ripe apricots.
Château Vartely Sauvignon Blanc, 2020, is a generous bouquet of fresh aromas dominated by invigorating citrus notes. Its pleasant taste carries with it a faint memory of black currant leaves.
Château Vartely Chardonnay, 2020 – strict elegance of aroma, balanced fruity wine with heady notes of citrus and barberries. The taste is rich and harmonious. Light notes of caramel are elegantly combined with the acidity characteristic of this variety.

The Château Vartely IGP series wines are made only from pure grape varieties grown in the company’s own vineyards. That gives them a colorful primary character with a strong influence on the origin zone’s terroir.
Zone IGP Codru includes 17 districts of the center of Moldova. This is an area with a mild climate, moderate rainfall, and chernozem soils. A set of factors, typical for this region, will create excellent conditions for the production of high-quality white and sparkling wines.
Zone IGP Valul lui Traian in turns the 7 areas in the south and south-west of Moldova. It is favorable for the production of red and fortified wines. The soils are well aerated, light, with limited productivity. Thanks to the climate influenced by the proximity of the Black Sea and the woodlands on the Tigech hill, the wines have great aging potential.

Château Vartely is a renowned winery, famous both in the country and abroad. The company successfully combines the modern technologies of cultivation and processes grapes with ancient local traditions to eventually get a wine of the highest quality. Although the winery opened only in 2004, high standards and ambitious intentions, which became fundamental in every production process and all activities, have allowed the company and its wines to take a leading place among our country’s wineries. The total area of the company’s vineyards is 320 hectares. They are located in two wine-growing regions of Moldova: Codru and Valul lui Traian (Budjak). With its own plantations, which are carefully looked after, the winery can produce high-quality raw materials thanks to the unique microclimate. In turn, this makes it possible to produce wines that are highly appreciated both in the local market and abroad – in more than 25 countries of the world. The wines are made from international and local varieties. This diversity has allowed Château Vartely to become one of the leaders in the market. The company is among the first who paid special attention to planting local varieties of grapes: Feteasca Alba, Feteasca Regala, Feteasca Neagra. And it was not mistaken, since wines from these varieties are highly valued far beyond the borders of Moldova.
The quality of Château Vartely wines, which the company is proud of, is noted at the national and international level with medals and certificates of the most famous and respected international competitions, including Mondial de Bruxelles, Mundus Vini, Vinalies Internationales, Decanter, International Wine & Spirits Competition, Vinarium, Citta del Vino, International Wine Challenge Alliances du Monde. The victories in these competitions allowed the company to enter the top five wineries in Moldova with the most medals.
