Today the Château Vartely winery  – one of the leaders of the Republic of Moldova’s wine industry and one of the first companies to started and produce wines with protected geographical indication, announces an updated range of wines, known under the name Château Vartely IGP.

This is a collection of 8 stunning white, rose, and red wines that will surely impress anyone. All wines in the series are characterized by typical varietal features and the highest quality. They have a pronounced freshness, bright aroma, and light taste. Wines are made from European and local grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Malbec , Syrah (Shiraz), Feteasca Regala. Every wine is a vivid reflection of the terrain, soil, winemaking traditions, and love embedded in the vine and wine. This is what winemakers call terroir (fr. terroir), that is, the totality of the soil’s features, climate, place location of the vineyard, and, besides, “the hands of the winemaker.” This is what makes ” terroir ” wines so unique.

Château Vartely Feteasca Regală  2020 is a fresh aromatic wine with light mineral notes and pleasantly expressed acidity, with a delicate aroma of wildflowers, which are legally combined with notes of ripe apricots.

Château Vartely Sauvignon Blanc, 2020, is a generous bouquet of fresh aromas dominated by invigorating citrus notes. Its pleasant taste carries with it a faint memory of black currant leaves.

Château Vartely Chardonnay, 2020 – strict elegance of aroma, balanced fruity wine with heady notes of citrus and barberries. The taste is rich and harmonious. Light notes of caramel are elegantly combined with the acidity characteristic of this variety.

Château Vartely Pinot Grigio, 2020 – a tropical fairy tale with aromatic notes of mango and melon, accentuated by lively, well-structured acidity. The perfect wine for warm evenings.

Château Vartely Malbec & Syrah, 2020 – from a blend of two amazing varieties, a rose wine was born, captivating with its freshness and light aromas of wild berries. The fruity taste of ripe strawberries reminds me of a hot summer full of delights.

Château Vartely Pinot Noir, 2017 – fresh aromas of raspberries and overripe strawberries are pronounced in this wine from the noble Pinot Noir variety. Pleasant acidity combined with a silky finish.

Château Vartely Merlot, 2018 – full, rich, intense, this wine with a bright taste and soft tannins dominated by ripe fruit notes. An explosive bouquet of black currant, cherry, and blackberry flavors with notes of dark chocolate.

Château Vartely Cabernet Sauvignon, 2018 – Harmony of taste and balanced character, with a pleasant astringency, smoothed out by the rich and complex aromas of ripe berries, with a predominance of black currant. Full and pronounced tannins give this wine a colorful character in a softcover.

The Château Vartely IGP series wines are made only from pure grape varieties grown in the company’s own vineyards. That gives them a colorful primary character with a strong influence on the origin zone’s terroir.

Zone IGP Codru includes 17 districts of the center of Moldova. This is an area with a mild climate, moderate rainfall, and chernozem soils. A set of factors, typical for this region, will create excellent conditions for the production of high-quality white and sparkling wines.

Zone IGP Valul lui Traian in turns the 7 areas in the south and south-west of Moldova. It is favorable for the production of red and fortified wines. The soils are well aerated, light, with limited productivity. Thanks to the climate influenced by the proximity of the Black Sea and the woodlands on the Tigech hill, the wines have great aging potential.
